Drop off your Christmas trees
Copa Cares and the Maricopa Public Works Department are providing a Christmas tree drop-off site for residents through Jan. 31. No contractors will be allowed to use the site. The drop-off site is located at 45862 W. Garvey Ave. (Old Park & Ride Site), a quarter-mile west of Roosevelt Avenue. Public Works crews are chipping the trees and disposing them at the Weinberger Landfill.
Since the program started in 2009, 2,982 trees have been chipped. Call John Bemis at 520-316-6946 or Holly Fain at 520-316-6927.
