3-car crash stops traffic on JWP

Three vehicles collided on John Wayne Parkway Friday afternoon, causing some traffic backup in the middle of Maricopa.

A witness said a car ran a red light at the intersection between Wells Fargo and Panda Express.

Maricopa Police and Fire departments responded to the scene.

No life-threatening injuries were reported, but first responders looked at several passengers from all of the vehicles, from children to an elderly couple.

For a time traffic was backed up as emergency personnel helped Promise Towing move vehicles off the road.
