Three hundred forty-six members of the 2015 senior class are expected to receive diplomas during the graduation ceremony for Maricopa High School Thursday night.

This year’s graduating class will be one of the largest in school history. The group has earned over $2 million in scholarships and had 20 members earn a place in the National Honor Society.

The motto for the 2015 senior class states, “This is not an end, only a beginning. A new start on a path into the world. Our hopes and dreams have brought us this far and before us lies a future unfurled…”

The ceremony will start with the processional at 7:30 p.m. The students and attendees will then recite the National Anthem before Student Body President and National Honor Society member Samantha Dugan takes the stage to address the crowd.

***ADVERTISEMENT***Senior class president and NHS member Angel Moreno will address the graduates following Dugan. The NHS member will be the last speaker to address the senior class before they receive their diplomas.

Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board President Pattie Coutre and Superintended Steve Chestnut will provide the proclamation of diplomas before MHS principal June Celaya provides the proclamation of graduates.

The students will then participate in the traditional turning of the tassels.
