On Dec. 24, the City of Maricopa Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 45000 block of West Jackrabbit Trail resulting in the apprehension and booking of two burglary suspects.
The search warrant was issued as the culmination of extensive investigation and development of investigative leads by MPD patrol officers in response to recent residential burglaries.
During the execution of the search warrant, officers and investigators recovered more than two dozen items from the West Jackrabbit Trail residence reported stolen during recent burglaries.The two suspects, 29-year-old Derek Smith and 24-year-old Keshia Crawford, both of Maricopa, were arrested and booked in the Pinal County Jail.
Smith was arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary in the second degree, two counts of theft, two counts of criminal damage to property, theft of a credit card and taking the identity of another.
Crawford was arrested on suspicion of theft, theft of a credit card and taking the identity of another. The investigation is continuing.
