The Glendale Police Department announced Tuesday they will search the Butterfield Station Landfill about 17 miles west of Maricopa for the remains of Jhessye Shockley, the 5-year-old Glendale girl reported missing on Oct. 11.

Police said they have not set a date for the search at the landfill, which is owned by Waste Management and near Mobile, a small community in Maricopa County.

Investigators suspect Jhessye may have been murdered and placed in a trash receptacle in Tempe prior to her disappearance.
