Two polls conducted in the past week show Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu leading in Arizona's 4th Congressional District.

Public Opinion Strategies conducted a survey of likely voters for the Babeu campaign. The results:

Paul Babeu – 31 percent
Paul Gosar – 23 percent
Ron Gould—19 percent

Of those who “definitely” know their choice, Babeu has double the support of both Gould and Gosar.

Definitely Paul Babeu – 21 percent
Definitely Paul Gosar – 12 percent
Definitely Ron Gould – 10 percent

“Babeu is well positioned to win this race,” said Glen Bolger, founding partner of Public Opinion Strategies. Babeu has solid leads among “very conservative voters, Tea Party supporters, strong NRA supporters, and base Republicans.”

These findings dovetail a poll published in the “Arizona Capitol Times” “Yellow Sheet.” That poll recorded 29 percent for Babeu, 19 percent for Gosar, and 17 percent for Gould.

Public Opinion Strategies conducts Republican polling. Clients include 80 members of the House of Representatives, 19 U.S. Senators, and six governors.
