Jhessye Shockley

The Glendale Police Department will begin searching for the remains of 5-year-old Jhessye Shockley at the Butterfield Landfill in Mobile on Feb. 6.

The landfill, owned by Waste Management, is about 17 miles west of Maricopa.

GPD is in the final stages of obtaining the necessary equipment, as well as scheduling, training and medically screening involved personnel.

Search personnel will consist of sworn officers and detectives, FBI, and Child Abduction Response Team (CART) members. Including search teams and support personnel, there will be more than 40 people on site per day, except weekends.  The search operation is expected to be extensive and could last several weeks.

Investigators suspect Jhessye was murdered and placed in a trash receptacle in Tempe prior to her disappearance in October.

I pray that beautiful little girl is still alive.

If the outcome is turns out to be the worst that everyone fears then i pray they find something that will give the rest of that family closure and lay Jhessye at rest.
