Dignity Health Arizona, formerly Catholic Healthcare West, is bringing 14 new jobs to Maricopa at an urgent-care facility it is opening in the Shops at Maricopa Fiesta, at 20750 N. John Wayne Parkway.
Positions available include a physician, registered nurse, registrar/medical assistant and radiology technologist.
Approximately $600,000 in tenant improvements has begun on the existing site. The facility is expected to open in April.
The urgent care will be staffed with board certified/eligible doctors and registered nurses.
Patients of all ages can be treated at the facility for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries needing immediate attention.
Laboratory and radiology services will be available and the facility will be open noon to 9 p.m. daily, including holidays.
The urgent care will offer a call-ahead service that allows patients to call the clinic starting at 7 a.m. and wait at home until staff calls them to come in.
The Maricopa urgent care facility is one of two local Dignity Health projects.The health-care system also plans to build a hospital at the northeast corner of John Wayne Parkway and Smith-Enke Road. It purchased 18.56 acres of land for more than $2 million in September.
Construction on the hospital is expected to begin in 2016.
Dignity Health provides health care for 40 hospitals throughout Arizona, California and Nevada.
Valley facilities include the Barrow Neurological Institute, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.
