Pinal Fairgrounds tunes up for Bluegrass Festival

Annual Bluegrass Festival hits Pinal Fairgrounds Jan. 25-27. Submitted

The 2013 Agri-Country Bluegrass Festival Friday-Sunday will showcase bands from throughout the country. Artists include Audie Blaylock & Redline, Larry Gillis, Digger Davis & Tombstone, Run Boy Run and Triple L Band.

Besides music, shopping opportunities and food, a classic car show will be offered Saturday.

Held at the Pinal Fairgrounds and Event Center on Eleven Mile Corner Road, the annual event hosts some of the nation’s top Bluegrass artists.

“We have brought in some major national acts this year,” said Executive Director Michael Searle. “Whether you’re a longtime fan of bluegrass music or new to the whole scene, this year’s festival is not to be missed.”

The festival will run rain or shine. The music begins 10 a.m. Friday and goes nonstop during festival hours to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Attractions include: Quilts Wild and Wonderful Show; Julie from Julie’s Sewing Corner of Miami, Ariz.; Agri-Sprouts Kids activities on Saturday; and pig races throughout the festival.

Admission is $8 for ages 13 and older; free for kids 12 and younger. RV camping is available onsite. Gates open 10 a.m. Friday; 9 a.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. Sunday. Gates close daily at 5 p.m.
