Of the 316 respondents to InMaricopa’s poll question asking whether readers are concerned about sex offenders living in or around Maricopa, 73 percent said “Yes.”

Eighteen percent said they were not concerned and 9 percent said they were indifferent.

Sex offenders are ranked on a four-tier system from Level 0 to Level 3 based on their likelihood of recidivism.

An offender’s level is determined after a law enforcement officer conducts a comprehensive, 19-point interview.
