A river runs through it

Rains from this week’s storms took their toll on Rancho El Dorado and the rest of Maricopa. The Santa Rosa wash, which runs through the community of Rancho El Dorado and holes 1, 2, 4 and 9 of The Duke golf course, flooded streets and the course causing the closures of both. The back nine of the golf course opened Wednesday and Rancho El Dorado Parkway reopened Thursday.

New storms are expected Friday, Monday and Wednesday of next week. Though not as strong as this week’s, the storms could still cause floodings and road closures because of the compounding of the recent rains.
