Police searching for robbery suspects

Maricopa Police are searching for two men who robbed the Maricopa Ace Hardware on Saturday night.

Around 9 p.m., officers responded to the hardware store in the 21000 block of north John Wayne Parkway on a reported robbery.

Arriving units discovered the business was locked and were able to gain entry when another employee arrived on scene with keys to the establishment. Upon entering and searching the interior, MPD located an employee in an upstairs office bound with handcuffs.

The employee was not harmed nor sustained any injuries during the robbery. According to the employee, the robbery occurred after the business was closed. The suspects approached the employee, inquired about the money and demanded to be taken to the location where the money was secured.
