Crews lay the foundation at the site of Big 5 Sporting Goods next to Maricopa-Casa Grand Highway.

Bock Commercial Construction began site improvements on a Maricopa parcel in preparation for building a Big 5 Sporting Goods store.

The lot in the Maricopa Power Center, The Wells, is 1.17 acres at 41800 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The site work, estimated at $156,000, was granted a permit July 28. The new commercial building permit, estimated at $671,000, was issued Aug. 11.

The architecture firm for the project is Eglin & Bresler Architects P.C. of Tucson. The parcel is primarily owned by Moore Worth Investments LLC of Irving, Texas.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
