RUF Mixed Martial Arts hosted cage fights Friday in the amphitheater in front of UltraStar Multi-tainment Center. The event drew a large fight-night crowd as well as fighters from across Arizona. Despite the cancellation of two main bouts, the fans did get to see Casa Grande’s Jeff Thornton win his weight class. Only one of Maricopa’s Sopi brothers made it into the ring, with Dale failing to make weight. A weigh-in fist fight caused another bout to be cancelled.
