Colorful art show to be unveiled at City Hall

Works by Pam Sutton, Craig Dourmashkin and Susan Cameron will be part of the new display at City Hall.
Maricopa ARTS Council (MAC) will unveil Painters Paradise, the newest group-show gallery at Maricopa City Hall, on Tuesday.

Suffused with color, Painter’s Paradise reflects the many moods of seasonal change, spanning the shift from summer into fall. It also showcases the entire painter’s glossary of media, from which each artist has selected the best medium for a distinctive approach: oil on canvas, oil on panel, acrylic, pastel or watercolor.

This gallery was created from works nominated by the artists themselves, which were then reviewed independently by a selection panel. Following MAC’s customary procedure, the 32 nominated paintings were forwarded for adjudication anonymously, without any artist’s name being known to selection panel members.

Painter’s Paradise includes 19 artworks created by 10 visual artists, all of whom are residents of Maricopa. Four of these artists are new to the City Hall galleries.

The full list of artists is:
Kaui Wilson
Kristal Melody Hoeh
Brad Kammeyer
Linda Esposito
Pam Sutton
Susan Cameron
Marsha Gilliam
Karyn Arkell
Craig Dourmashkin
Jennifer Hawkins
Painter’s Paradise will have its opening reception at City Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 1, prior to the City Council open meeting, 5:30-7 p.m. The show will stay up until just before Thanksgiving and is open for viewing during City Hall’s regular business hours.
