If you are a garage sale junky, you’ll be lickin’ your chops this weekend as a myriad of Rancho El Dorado residents will simultaneously hold garage sales. The sales will be this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 11-13, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The semi-annual event is the brainchild of local realtor Dawn Madden and is held each March and October. Close to 40 families participated in the inaugural sale in October.
“Having your own garage sale at the same time as multiple families on your street increases your traffic dramatically,” said Madden, an agent with Great American Realty. “I heard of one family that made over $3,500!”

Rancho El Dorado residents who would like to participate merely need to direct people to their location from Rancho El Dorado Parkway. Madden is posting signage directing passersby into the development. Shopping is open to everyone beginning at 6 a.m. each day.
