DSPA Gems’ annual Daddy Daughter Dance was not as crowded as usual at its sixth annual event Saturday, but scores of fathers and their little girls enjoyed the lively bash at Maricopa Wells Middle School.
The dance had been scheduled in February, but unforeseen circumstances required it to be rescheduled. Set the day before Easter, it just happened to be one of the busiest days of the year. The Gems sold 125 tickets in advance and more sold at the door.
The evening included an Italian-style dinner, dancing, a photo booth and silent auction. Most dads and daughters were dressed in their best, and several were even coordinated.
