Dance Program Showcases Talented Tots

The City of Maricopa Parks, Recreation, and Library Department presented its debut dance program last night to a large crowd of parents, siblings, and friends. Approximately 25 girls and one boy performed in “Dancing is Fun” which featured two dances. The Tiny Tots, ages 3 – 7, showcased their tap dancing while the Mini-Princesses, ages 5 – 7, presented their ballet steps. The production, under the direction of instructor, Elizabeth Fujimoto, ended to resounding applause from the audience.

Elizabeth Fujimoto has been dancing since she was six. Proficient in tap, jazz, ballet, and swing dancing, she holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Utah. She teaches all age groups, including adults, and has taught for ten years in various studios throughout the western United States.

Due to overwhelming demand, the City’s PRL Department will offer a short session for Tiny Tot Combo and Mini Princess Ballet. Tiny Tots will meet on either Monday or Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mini Princess Ballet classes will also meet on Monday or Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The session will begin November 15th with all classes concluding by December 15th. The cost for the short session is $40. Registration will close on November 12th at 5 p.m. Beginning January 24, 2005, a full session of these dance classes will be available to Maricopa youngsters.
