A series of three tours at the Maricopa Agricultural Center begins today.
The “Desert Ag-Ventures,” aimed at winter visitors and all senior adults, are Feb. 17, 19 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Known as the MAC, the 2,100-acre research farm is at 37860 W. Smith-Enke Road.
The tours are an opportunity to find out how things grow at the center, which is an education center for the University of Arizona.
There will be presentations, information on desert agriculture, a tour of the farm on trailers pulled by tractors, a hot lunch, door prizes and more.
The event is first come, first served. Cost is $20, and reservations are required.
