– Mayor Christian Price was on television this morning talking about the Copper Sky facility and all good things Maricopa on “Sonoran Living,” on ABC 15. Catch the segment here.

– The new Starbucks in the Maricopa Station complex will have a “soft” opening Thursday afternoon. The City of Maricopa and the Chamber of Commerce board will be part of semi-private event with a ribbon-cutting at 5:15 p.m. The store’s hours initially will be 4:30 a.m.-10 p.m., which will be adjusted based on demand.

– The Heritage District Citizen Advisory Committee still has two vacancies. Members are no longer limited to property owners or residents within the district, according to City Clerk Vanessa Bueras. The city’s Board of Adjustment also has two vacancies, as does the Transportation Committee. Learn more at http://www.maricopa-az.gov.

– HISTORICAL NOTE: Headquarters Restaurant stands on the site of the first schoolhouse in Maricopa. It was built of railroad ties and bridge timbers in 1912. In the 1950s, the school was converted into a restaurant, which was destroyed in a fire but was a predecessor to the dining mainstay.
