A 28-year-old Maricopa man who was taken into custody yesterday after a brief standoff with Maricopa police officers is charged with assault and criminal trespass.
Elleno Bandin was transported to Chandler Regional Hospital shortly before 3 p.m. for self-inflicted cuts on both arms.
At about 1:35 p.m., police responded to the 45000 block of West Dutchman Drive on a domestic violence call.
Prior to arrival, police were advised an alleged female victim at that address had sustained minor injuries and was able to identify the male offender who had fled the scene.
A physical description was provided to police and backup units located a subject fitting the suspect’s description in an alley behind the south Circle K convenience store on North John Wayne Parkway. Bandin fled on foot when the officers approached him, running toward the 44400 block of West Honeycutt Road across from the Maricopa Business Center.
