This program is open to those ages 8-19. Participants will learn stage presence and movement, voice projection, interpretation of characters along with all other aspects involved in the production of a play. This year’s production will be Disney’s “Mulan Jr.” taken from Music Theatre International’s Broadway Junior Collection. Audition material available at http://www.mtishows.com/broadway-junior, search for Disney’s Mulan Jr. All participants will have a part in the play. Roles will be given out after auditions during the first week of class. There will be four performances on July 20 -22. Come have fun and learn about how an actor prepares for the stage or the big screen! The class will be instructed/directed by Matt Ortega, Artistic Director of Maricopa Community Youth Theatre.
