Subdivision Ordinance Public Forum

The City will be holding a public forum meeting on the proposed text amendment updates to the City of Maricopa Subdivision Ordinance Chapters 14-5 Master Plan Development (MPD) and Planned Area Development (PAD), 14-6 Design Standards, 14-7 Improvement Requirements, and related amendments. Staff is recommending moving Article 14-5 Master Planned Development (MPD) and Planned Area Development (PAD) from the Subdivision Ordinance to the Zoning Code. Portions of Article 14-6 Design Standards and Article 14-7 Improvement Requirements will be moved to the city’s Design Standards Manual, which is currently being updated by the Public Works Department.
The update also removes redundancy where it is located within other City policies and Ordinances and moves requirements to the zoning ordinance where appropriate. The goal of the update is to clarify development requirements within the City for subdivisions, make the City more efficient in its development processes and remain competitive in Arizona for bringing in new development.
All interested persons are invited to attend the public forum at which you may listen, speak, or submit written comments relating to the proposed update.
