Facilities Supervisor (Farm Tour)

Summary:

The Facilities Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates all site activities concerned with the farm tour. This position will provide direction, coaching, guidance and development for the farm tour staff and is responsible for the development and administration of the tour’s equipment/building maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Farm Tour facilities and operations including tour route, grounds and infrastructure maintenance as well as Welcome Barn infrastructure
  • Work with Farm tour manager on overall adherence to set forth standards guidelines for the facility
  • Responsible for tour safety including facilities, equipment and tour structures
  • Ensure all Exhibits/Tour Zones are functioning properly and coordinate service accordingly
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Tour are kept clean, hygienic and well maintained at all times and coordinate necessary upkeep
  • Work with outside vendors on development of tour elements, signage and equipment
  • Ensure grounds and facilities meet or exceed set forth standards
  • Oversee tour maintenance plans including proper upkeep of tour equipment
  • Reviews existing processes and recommends innovative methods for improving utilization of the equipment, the operation, personnel and other resources
  • Responsible for all equipment and facility maintenance activities for the site and establishes standards and practices for all aspects of the equipment design, operation and repair
  • Drive tram during tours
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • 5-10 years of equipment and building maintenance, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the understanding of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment related to the design and use of industrial equipment, controls and automation
  • Excellent working knowledge of associated industry and regulatory guidance documents
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully supervise and manage technicians, contractors and vendors through positive motivation of individuals and teams
  • Working knowledge of reporting methods and tools for tracking and managing key performance indicators
  • Proven ability to manage maintenance budgets and capital projects
  • Must be willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
