Rain and a flash flood watch continue through Wednesday as temperatures remain mild this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Conditions are favorable for localized flash flooding throughout the watch area in addition to widespread nuisance flooding. For most areas, the most likely time frame for flash flooding will be late tonight through Tuesday.

Today, an 80 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm are in place this afternoon. New rainfall amounts are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch. The high is around 74 degrees F. Tonight, rain is also expected after 11 p.m. with some storm likely to produce heavy rainfall. The likelihood of overnight precipitation is 100 percent with accumulation of quarter to a half-inch. The low will be around 67.

Tuesday, the chance for rain is 90 percent with a high near 81 and breezes of 10-15 mph. Rain is expected to continue overnight, when the temperature drops to around 66.

Wednesday, the chance for rain is 30 percent, mainly before 11 a.m. The day is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 87. Skies are expected to begin to clear overnight, and the low may be around 64.

Thursday is likely to be mostly sunny with a high near 85. The nighttime low will be around 63.

Friday is forecast to warm to 88 degrees under sunny skies, while the night may be mostly clear with a low around 63.

At this point, Columbus Day weekend looks to be mostly sunny, though there is a slight chance of showers Saturday night.
