While the City of Maricopa continues to search for a new economic development director, they have found a temporary leader for the department.

Harold Stewart, who calls himself semi-retired, came on board in January. Previous director Micah Miranda left for a position in Chandler in December.

Stewart was the executive director of economic vitality for the City of Scottsdale. Before that he was the economic development manager for the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce. He has been working as an economic consultant since 2011.
