In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Maricopa High School students and teachers answered one simple question:

“What are you thankful for?”

Alex Hurley

Alex Hurley, MHS Junior:

“I’m really thankful for my support system and my friends that I have now because if I didn’t have them I wouldn’t be where I am now. I’m really confident and I can do what I want in my life.”

Jalen Reyes

Jalen Reyes, MHS Senior:

“I would say that I’m thankful for dance. It’s something that I do a lot and it’s something that I am good at.”

Favor Odubamowo, MHS Senior:

“I am grateful for my family and friends and all that opportunities that I have in my life. I am grateful for simply waking up each morning and living in good health.”

Aidan Balt

Aidan Balt, MHS Freshmen and Senior English Teacher:

“I am thankful for amazing students who want to learn and be the best human beings they can be. I am thankful for the support of everyone in Maricopa as teachers, staff, and students who work to make Maricopa High School the best school it can be.”

Jennifer Miller

Jennifer Miller, MHS Sophomore English Teacher:

“I am thankful for the opportunity to work with the youth in this community. They are really exceptional human beings.”

Tyler Miller

Tyler Miller, MHS Sophomore World Studies Teacher:

“I would say first that I am thankful for my family. I’m thankful for living in the country and community that I live in and I would also say I’m thankful for my job. I get to experience something I think a lot of people don’t – in that everyone that comes into my classroom has their own life, experiences, culture at home, challenges, and successes, and by me being able to have the job that I have I can learn from other people.”
