This year, Maricopa Police Department hosted a contest asking local artists to submit ideas of a logo for the planned Family Advocacy Center.

Friday, MPD announced the winner was Jennifer Scribner, whose “Helping Hands” design will be on FAC materials and inside the facility. As stipulated, the logo includes symbolic colors.

The FAC will treat victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Celebrating her 22nd wedding anniversary (she’s married to Maricopa Community Development Director Martin Scribner), the artist said she had been a victim earlier in life and had to rely on the helping hands of others to recover.
