The Marching Rams finished in third place with an overall score of 60.5 – a significant improvement over their first AzMBA score from last season, which happened two weeks later in the season. The band also got some great feedback and direction from an outstanding, nationally recognized judging panel. The band earned praise for performing with personality and for including elements in their show that are unique.

MHS’s Director of Music Mr. Ivan Pour was also voted “favorite director” by MHS band students and parents in a fundraiser/voting contest sponsored by Mesquite High School.

The Marching Rams continue their festival season with an 8 p.m. performance on Oct. 22 at the ABODA Basha High School “Sounds Along the San Tans” Invitational. Admission there is $8 for adults, seniors and students are $6 and children under 5 are free.

In support of MHS’s “College and Career Ready” academic focus, The Marching Rams also will be performing Oct. 29 at Northern Arizona University Band Day at 6:30 p.m. in the Walk-Up Skydome at NAU. Admission for NAU Band Day is $12 for adults. Children ages 4-12 are $7. Children under 4 are free.
