A Maricopa man was arrested earlier this month after allegedly stealing a former coworker’s car and claiming he was forced into the theft by drug dealers.

Bradley Baker, 29, was arrested Sept. 2 after he allegedly broke into his former place of employment – White’s Towing – and then stole another employee’s car, according to a Maricopa Police Department report.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Sept. 2, the report claims Dan Mizell of White’s Towing reported his car, a white Cadillac SUV, had been stolen and that his office had been broken into and his things had been “rummaged through.”

One hour later, Baker was arrested at a residence in the Heritage District.

While in custody, the report says, Baker allegedly admitted to breaking into White’s Towing, stealing the keys and then stealing the Cadillac.

The report also alleges Baker said he was “forced to steal it [the Cadillac] by some drug dealers.”

Baker was charged with burglary, theft of means of transportation and trespassing. If convicted he could face 5-15 years in prison.
