The event is a silent-auction fund-raiser for the orchestra.

Now preparing its seventh season, MMC continues to bring to Maricopa live performances of music drawn from opera, ballet, stage and screen. In a mix that balances more-intimate scorings with full orchestral compositions, the ensemble’s programming spans the centuries, from Bach, Bizet, Bach and Brahms to Scott Joplin, Henry Mancini and John Williams.

As in previous years, MMC plans several city-wide performances including its annual Winter Serenade and Spring Musicale, and begins its season with an October Performing Arts Gala. That is a free special event within Maricopa Arts Council’s three-season expo, “Got Art, Maricopa.”

Elements offers a venue in which to mingle with the orchestra, meet local artists, officials and entrepreneurs, and enjoy light catered refreshments. Preview MMC’s latest DVD while bidding on your favorite auction items; all while supporting the fine arts movement in Maricopa.

The funds raised will enable the chamber orchestra to continue its concerts at Maricopa’s most appropriate concert spaces.

“It’s challenging for a small group like ours to bring such high quality venues to bear in a small town,” said Laura Olivieri, violist and assistant coordinator for MMC. “So this year’s fund-raiser supports not only the budding fine arts genre in Maricopa, but also the dedicated talent of MMC’s all-volunteer ensemble.”

Silent auction items include original artworks by local artists and photographers, a gift card for Phoenix Symphony, season tickets or autographed CD packages from MMC concerts, a box set of assorted French wines, a handmade quilt with musical motif, wine and gift baskets, autographed page from an original musical composition, four-pack movie tickets to Ultra Star, gift certificates or coupons for high-quality local services and much more.
