Maricopa Wells to host state legislators

Maricopa Unified School District is pleased to announce that Barbara McGuire, who represents District 23 in the Arizona House of Representatives and State Senator Rebecca Rios, the Minority Whip from District 23, will be visiting Maricopa Wells Middle School on Oct. 30.

Born in Ray-Sonora, Rep. McGuire is a third-generation Arizonan. Married for 36 years, she has two children and a grandchild. She grew up in a mining community and has been a small business owner for 20 years. Rep. McGuire believes in an efficient, responsive government.

Senator Rios is married with two young children. She worked in the children’s behavioral health field for 20 years. She believes in community service and local control. and is committed to health care, education and environmental protection.

Both legislators will be there to discuss the “legislative process” with students. The convocation will take place at 10 a.m. in the multi-purpose room.
