Brandon Coffman’s family is hoping to raise $10,000 to cover his medical procedures after a motorcycle accident on Monday left him hospitalized.

Coffman is described by his family as a hard-working husband, and loving father of his four children. He also loves his motorcycle, and it’s not uncommon to see him riding his bike around town. He is the main provider for his family and his job as the manager of Maricopa’s Jack in the Box covers their expenses.

“We aren’t sure what the total cost of all the surgeries will be yet,” Coffman’s sister-in-law Marisol Reyes said. “Any money we can raise would really help a lot.”

On Monday, Coffman had a business meeting in Phoenix. Like any other day, he hopped on his motorcycle and went to work. The meeting concluded just before 2 p.m., and Coffman got back on his bike and headed home. As he approached the intersection of 24th Street and Baseline Road, a vehicle reportedly cut in front of him, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle.

The accident left Coffman with 12 fractures throughout his body, and a spinal cord injury. His motorcycle crashed at such a rapid rate that it broke into pieces.

The family said Coffman was brought to the hospital without a pulse. Doctors were able to revive him, and he has since improved to stable condition. He is currently unable to speak, but he has been responsive.
