The highlight of the event was the MHS Chamber Orchestra earning a rating of “Excellent,” the second highest rating available. The orchestra’s program was their most difficult program of music to date.

The Symphonic Band’s performance received a rating of “good,” the third-highest rating. They also performed their most extensive and difficult program to date. Both groups also participated in a sight-reading session as part of the festival.

The Maricopa community is invited to attend the third annual Music-a-Thon from noon-9 p.m. on May 13 in the Maricopa High School Performing Arts Center. There will be a full day of performances from all MHS music programs as well as Desert Wind and Maricopa Wells Middle School music programs.
