The Maricopa High School Rams moved to 6-6 on the season Thursday with a non-conference loss at home to Dysart, 63-60.

The tall front line for the Demons (one starter is 6-foot-10) looked like they were going to run away with the game from the outset. The Rams were scoreless until the final 4 minutes of the first quarter. Then the Maricopa defense kicked in and tormented Dysart the rest of the game.

The Rams took a 31-25 lead at the half. Forcing turnovers, they were frequently able to overcome the height disadvantage with quickness in the third quarter. The Demons, however, grabbed back the lead in the final minute of the game, leaving Maricopa with a frustrating might-have-been.

A Division III team, Dysart is 9-2 on the season.
