Thursday, Maricopa High School student leaders attended Pinal County Town Hall. Students met with more than 200 county leaders, elected officials and dignitaries to learn about and discuss economic development and growth for Pinal County.

Students participated in the Wayne Gerkin Memorial Scholarship program. After a morning of study and networking, students met in a seminar forum to discuss ideas and solutions for Pinal County.

Senior Faith Mead was awarded one of four $500 scholarships at the event. Faith is an active DECA member and competitor, Link Crew peer mentor, and holds a part-time job in the local community. She plans to attend CAC and focus on veterinary and animal sciences. Her career goals include working in equine pharmaceuticals or as a bloodstock agent for horse breeders.

The town hall was attended by 29 students from several county schools. Additional Maricopa participants include seniors Adia Carr, Benjamin Diaz, Harrison Edmondson,  Lindsay Hubbard and junior Brendan Maxwell.
