Monsoon season crawls forward with chance of rain this weekend

Though washes are flowing and monsoon clouds continue, skies will remain mostly clear this weekend over Maricopa with a sparse chance of precipitation carrying on into next week, according to the National Weather Service. There is a slight chance of heavy winds on Saturday and Sunday, with peak temperatures likely hanging somewhere around 103.

Friday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a 10 percent chance of rain throughout the day, a high around 102 and low near 85.

Saturday will likely also be mostly sunny with a 10-20 percent chance of rain throughout the day as temperatures reach a high around 103 and then drop to a low near 85 as winds pick up to around 20 mph in the evening.

Sunday should be partly cloudy with a 10-20 percent chance of rain throughout the day as temperatures again reach a high around 103. Winds will increase to around 25 mph in the evening pushing the temperature down near 85.

Monday will likely again see partly cloudy skies with a 10-20 percent chance of rain, a high of around 101 and low near 84.
