Maricopa Unified School District sent out this message to parents and guardians at around 11:30 a.m.:

A few minutes ago we were notified by the Maricopa Police Department that there is not a credible threat and that all schools can end their teaching lockdown. The Maricopa Police Department completed a thorough search of the high school and have notified us that the school is safe. However, classes at the high school are cancelled for today. High school students were transported to Desert Wind Middle School and will remain there for the rest of the day. Parents can pick up their high school students today at Desert Wind with proper identification. High school students remaining at Desert Wind will be provided bus transportation at the end of the day beginning at 2 p.m. so those students may arrive home a few minutes early. Classes will resume at all schools tomorrow at the normal time.
