New home design features detached garage

The Planning Division of Maricopa Development Services shared KB Home’s introduction of a detached garage option – a new home design option for Maricopa.

With this option packaged with the original home construction, the City cites a goal of the 2040 Vision to “provide housing diversity for all ages and income levels.”

The approved plans include these optional detached garages with three configurations:

• Strictly used as an additional 2-car garage
• A 1-car garage with one bay converted to a guest house studio with powder room
• A 1-car garage with one bay converted to a workshop

The optional detached garages do not take the place of the attached garages featured on all existing plans, and all the City’s prohibitions on secondary dwelling units within this single-family community remain in effect. The new offering from KB Home is currently approved for the Homestead North Subdivision in Parcels 7 and 9.
