It was all for a $100 watch.

A used “G Force” wrist watch was stolen during a break-in Saturday night at the Nifty Thrifty Thrift Store, according to the business’ owner, John Zolyniak. The store is located in the Maricopa Business Center at 44480 Honeycutt Road.

“My thinking is whoever broke in must have really wanted that watch,” he said.

Zolyniak said the window that was smashed during the apparent robbery cost around $400 to replace.

“The window is worth more than the watch,” he said.

He said nothing else was stolen from the store.

Allen Ingersoll, who owns DVD and Game Depot, the business next door to the thrift shop, said he reported the break-in to police around 11:30 p.m. Ingersoll said he had returned from a sporting event to pick up his motorcycle, which was parked in front of his business, when he noticed all the lights were off in the complex.
