Hundreds of Maricopa residents are flooding Our Lady of Grace Parish in Maricopa to attend its ninth annual Parish Festival throughout the weekend.

The festival, along with the church, have grown over the years and become a staple of the community. The festival features carnival rides, live entertainment, arts and crafts stations, food vendors, horse rides and an auction.

“We can’t be more grateful and thankful to all the community support that we’ve received with all of our events,” parish secretary Patti Coutre said. “We’ve had a wonderful crowd, fantastic food, great entertainment, and not to mention, some great carnival rides.”

This will be the final year the festival is held at Our Lady of Grace’s current location on Honeycutt Ave across from Maricopa High School. The parish has built a new church on Adams Way toward the center of town, and the Community of Hope Church will be moving into the parish’s current location.

“We’ve been holding this parish festival as a major fundraiser to build our new church, which we are proud to announce will have our dedication mass on Saturday, Feb. 13 at noon,” Coutre said.

The festival will last until 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, and reopen from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
