Southern Dunes is a private golf club designed by internationally renowned course architects Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt and the legendary Fred Couples. The club, located just west of SR 347 on SR 238, is celebrating the ground-breaking of its new clubhouse.

“John will provide some real energy for this, our most exciting event since we broke ground on the golf course in 2001,” Curley said. “John will not only preside at the ground-breaking but will also provide a golf clinic for our members, media and invited guests.” After the clinic, members and guests will have the opportunity to walk with Daly as he plays the course.

The ground-breaking of the new clubhouse (above), hosted by Zacher Homes, is the culmination of years of planning and anticipation for Club members. It is being designed by Doug Fredrikson of Douglas Fredrikson Architects who has also designed the clubhouses at Scottsdale’s Troon Country Club and FireRock Country Club in Fountain Hills among others.

Southern Dunes is unique among private golf clubs in the Southwest. Created exclusively for golf, the Australian dunes layout of the course offers exceptional challenges whether played from the forward tees (6,500+/- yards) or from the tips (7,500+/- yards). The concept of the course is oriented exclusively for golf. According to Garrett Wallace, the Club’s general manager and director of golf, “We have no tee times, no five-hour rounds and we promise our members the purest golf experience possible.”

Play at Southern Dunes is reserved for Club members and their guests. Memberships in the Club are available via application and range from $15,000 National Non-Equity Memberships to $25,000 – $100,000 Equity Memberships. For additional membership information, send a request via email.
