The Pinal County Division of Public Health announced on it will be providing flu vaccinations for the following groups:
• Adults ages 65+
• Adults ages 19-64 with underlying chronic medical conditions
• All women who will be pregnant during the flu season
• Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities
• Out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children ages less than 6 months

To receive a flu shot you must schedule an appointment. The Division of Public Health will begin to take appointments starting on Tuesday, November 9, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Flu immunizations will begin on November 15. To schedule an appointment, call (800) 231-8499 extension 7309 or 7303. The phone lines will be closed on Veterans’ Day, Thursday, November 11.

All who are scheduled to receive a flu shot must provide a photo I.D. showing that they are age 65 or older or a physician’s prescription stating they are in one of the risk groups for which flu vaccination is recommended.

A vaccination fee will apply. Fee information will be available when appointments are scheduled. No insurances will be billed.

The Division of Public Health anticipates the demand will be greater than the supply and strongly suggests all individuals seeking flu vaccination continue to seek other sources such as doctors’ offices and clinics.
