Powder Puff Football battling for the Cure

82

In 1983 the first Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure took place in Texas with the proceeds from that 5-kilometer run going toward scientific research to find a cure for breast cancer.

Maricopa High School will be joining in that battle this fall during Homecoming Week – Oct. 27 through Oct. 31. On Wednesday evening Oct. 29, all-girl Powder Puff Football teams will be competing with all monies raised that evening going toward cancer research.

The public is encouraged to attend and support this fun-filled life-affirming activity. High

School Sponsors Marsie Shealey and Megan Tyler will also be participating in a three-day walk in cooperation with the 25th anniversary of this event.
