Rainy-day possibilities to clear off midweek

Showers early this week will likely give way to mostly clear skies and moderate temperatures as the week rolls on, according to the National Weather Service.

Today and tonight will be cloudy and breezy with a 70 percent chance of rain, winds gusting up to 25 mph and temperatures reaching a high of around 67. The low will be near 52.

Tuesday will remain cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain throughout the morning, clearing up around noon. Winds will continue to gust up to 20 mph in the afternoon while temperatures rise to a high of 62 as the sun comes out, and dip to a low of 41 after the sun sets.

Wednesday should be sunny and clear with a high temperature of around 66 midday and a low near 43 at night.

Thursday will also be sunny and clear, getting slightly warmer with a high of 73 during the day  and a low of 49 at night.

An alert from Arizona Department of Transportation: With strong wind forecast in southeastern Arizona, drivers should watch out for blowing dust between Willcox and the New Mexico line. If caught in a dust storm, immediately check traffic around your vehicle and pull all the way off the roadway. Turn off all lights, including emergency flashers, and take your foot off the brake.
