Registration for Central Arizona College’s English Language Acquisition for Adults (ELAA or ESL) classes begins Wednesday, Aug. 8, at five locations in Western Pinal County.

Students must pre-register at either Central’s Signal Peak Campus, or at the Casa Grande, Coolidge Training & Assessment, Florence, or Maricopa centers. With this new policy, registration will no longer take place at the class site or on the first day of instruction.

Classes will be divided into a pair of eight-week periods over the duration of the semester. The first session begins on Aug. 20 and the second session will begin on Oct. 11. These ESL classes are currently provided at no cost to Arizona residents.

In addition, Citizenship Preparation class and an English pronunciation (accent reduction) class designed for English language learners who need to improve the rhythm, stress and intonation of their spoken language will be held at the Casa Grande Center.
