432

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Mary Allen from the Pinal County Health Department and JoAnne Pinto from Against Abuse, Inc., with sponsorship from the 2008 Child Abuse Prevention Council presented a plaque, ‘Remember The Children,’ to Maricopa Elementary School.

The award commemorates the site’s work in educating students and the community about child safety and the prevention of child abuse.

In addition to the plaque, the Prevention Council also secured donations of plants for a flower bed located at the entrance to the school.

Maricopa Elementary has been an active partner with the health department and its outstanding educational programming.
