The Maricopa Republican Club invites you to hit the ‘links’ during its third annual golf tournament Saturday, May 15, at The Duke at Rancho El Dorado.

The price of a golf package is $125 for one player and includes green fees, a cart, range balls, a goody bag and lunch. The same golf package is available for four at $500. Signage opportunities are also available as are hole sponsorships for $200..

Registration will be from 6 to 7:30 a.m. with a Continental breakfast served from 6:30 to 8 a.m. The shotgun start is scheduled for 8 a.m.

A barbeque lunch, raffle, silent auction and prizes will follow play. Longest drive and closest to the pin prizes will be awarded, and a guest speaker will address the full field of 72 golfers expected, as well as onlookers.

The putting contest will offer a chance to win $10,000 in cash. Both a fully loaded Yamaha motorcycle and a four-wheel, all-terrain vehicle are prizes for a hole-in-one.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to benefit the 100 Club, Maricopa Police Explorers and Maricopa Little League. Last year’s event, which drew more than 60 golfers, generated $1,500 for Tails of Hope/Pet Social Worker and the Maricopa Parks and Recreation department.

“This is shaping up to be a great event, with many prominent Republicans from Arizona taking part,” said Brenda Hermanson, Maricopa Republican Club president.

The deadline for entry into the tournament is May 3. Make checks payable to: Maricopa Republican Club, Attn: Marty Hermanson, 44080 W. Palmen Drive, Maricopa 85138; include all players’ names, contact information, company names and shirt sizes.

“The tournament promises to be fun, with a lot going on,” said Hermanson. Approximately 14 Republican candidates for office will be on hand during the day.
