Resident suffers burns in Acacia Crossings house fire

A man in a wheelchair was injured when a fire started in his Acacia Crossings home June 26.

The fire started in a bedroom in the house on Portabello Road. Maricopa Fire Department crews arrived to find the 30-year-old man had been able to leave the house but had suffered burns to his face, arms and chest.

He was transported to a hospital while firefighters extinguished fames in the bedroom, resulting in minimal damage to the house.

The cause is under investigation.
