A mostly sunny week in Maricopa is expected to shift into recurrent cloudy skies in preparation for a wet weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Today, the forecast calls for sunny skies and high near 81 degrees. Tonight, the low will be around 54.

Tuesday will be similar, with sunny skies and a high of 82. Nighttime will be partly cloudy with a low around 58.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 80 and breezes of 5-15 mph gusting up to 20 mph. The night will be partly cloudy with a low around 55.

Thursday, winds will continue under sunny skies, keeping the high around 74. The gusting breezes will also continue into the night, when the temperature drops to around 49.

Friday brings a 10-percent chance of showers, with partly sunny skies, 5-15 mph breezes and a high near 72 in the forecast. Overnight, the chance of rain increases to 30 percent after 11 p.m. The low is expected to be around 49 and the winds 10-15 mph.

That leads into a St. Patrick’s Day weekend with likelihood of rain between 30 and 40 percent.
